Remote device logs

An authorized operator can request the Meshanics agent journal from an enrolled device. The request travels with the next device heartbeat, and the device uploads a bounded compressed bundle over its existing authenticated channel. Meshanics does not open an inbound shell and does not accept arbitrary commands or paths for log collection.

Expand a device in Devices, choose Request agent log, and wait for the request to move from pending to uploaded. Search and page through previous requests by source, status, requester, or upload note. Download is available only while the bundle content is retained.

Uploaded content is retained for 30 days by default. The effective tenant policy and each bundle's expiry are shown beside the request. Meshanics platform staff can configure 1 to 365 days according to the tenant contract. When a bundle expires, its content is cleared while the request and delivery metadata remain in the audit history.

Log requests and downloads are permission-gated. Support access does not create an invisible path: customer-visible audit events record who requested a bundle and for which device. Uploaded device-log content is never included in outbound webhooks or structured-log integrations.
